 Administering an Open Group Session
Solution

To administer an open group session you first need to create the session in the GeneSys Online interface. Click “Add” under the sessions heading, and then select “Open Group” from the list of session types. Remember to give your session a description, and select the test or battery you wish to administer.

Once you save the session, you will be given a unique SessionID. Take a note of this number, as you will need to give it to your group of respondents.

Set up the room in the typical fashion, ensuring that typical standards are met, ensuring that each respondent has a PC to work on. When you are ready, and you participants are comfortable, ask them to browse to the following address:

www.genesysonline.net/start

On this screen they will need to enter the Session ID you noted down from earlier. They do not need to enter a respondent ID at this point, unless they are recovering their test after a system crash.

The respondent will now fill in their details, and once complete will arrive at the Authorisation Screen. They can not get past this screen until every one is ready to begin, and you have authorised them.  To authorise your respondents, select them all, and right click on one of them. Select the “Authorise Respondents” option, and then inform your respondents that they may begin.

The GeneSys Online interface will allow you to monitor the exact progress of all of your respondents, letting you know where in the test they are. The GeneSys Online system tracks the progress of each of the progress, and times all tests for you.

Once complete the tests will automatically close for the respondent, and your screen will show that the results have been received.
